When Leadership Shines Too Brightly
The Nurse Coach Life
Hi friends,
Let’s talk about something a little real today—the kind of real that makes your shoulders tense just thinking about it. I’m talking about when strong, capable, compassionate leaders are quietly (or not-so-quietly) pushed out of roles not because they’re doing something wrong—but because they’re doing something right.
I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it. And I know many of you have too.
Sometimes, when your light shines too brightly, it starts to highlight the shadows of others—especially those in positions above you. When that happens, insecurity can creep in, and instead of collaboration and growth, you get power plays and ego. It’s a tough space to be in, especially when you care deeply about the work and the people you lead.
But here’s the beautiful part of the story: being pushed out doesn’t mean you failed. In fact, it often means you were right on track. You were modeling the kind of leadership people remember—the kind that puts people before politics, listens deeply, and brings heart to the table.
It’s one of the reasons I created Rise Through Becoming Lifestyle Coaching. I wanted a space where burnout, overwhelm, and self-doubt weren’t brushed under the rug. Where women in midlife, especially those navigating career shifts, leadership transitions, or just life saying, “this isn’t working anymore,” could find clarity and calm.
Through a mix of deep listening, coaching conversations, and somatic tools that help bring you back into your body and breath, I support you in finding balance again. Less hustle, more grounded being.
Because the truth is: you’re not too much. You’re not too passionate. Your light isn’t the problem. The system that couldn’t hold it? That’s another story.
So, if this speaks to your experience, know that you’re not alone. Your leadership still matters. And your next chapter might just be the one where you finally feel at home in your own success.
With gratitude and a grounded breath,
Sandra,
